Daryl Hams, RN
Project Director
Daryl Hams RN is the Project Director for the Regional Harm Reduction Collaborative. He brings 30 years of eclectic nursing experience to this project. Daryl’s nursing career began in Melbourne, Australia working in the inner city with those experiencing addiction issues. A passion for travel, combined with a passion for caring for the underserved and marginalized, has led him to such places as Aboriginal Communities in “Outback” Australia, summer camps in the US, corrections care in NW Ohio, homeless care in Cincinnati, Ohio and for the past 10 years Community Mental Health and Addiction Services across the southwest Ohio region. Prior to this project, Daryl developed and implemented a Community Outreach Nursing team focused on providing mental health and drug and alcohol care to the homeless and underserved in the Middletown area.
Tami Adams, RN, MSN
Harm Reduction Coordinator
Tami Adams, MSN, RN contributes over 30 years of nursing and community health experience to the RHRC. She has spent the last 17 years of her career in community medical outreach. Tami developed and managed a free volunteer-based clinic with doctors, NPs, nurses and social workers. This team provided short term primary care to individuals experiencing homelessness and lack of insurance in Hamilton and surrounding areas. Many patients could not afford their medications, so she Implemented a drug repository program for the donations of medications. Tami also has engaged with many social service and health care partners to create programs that focused on populations experiencing unique health disparities in Butler County. Tami’s calling is to serve and empower vulnerable populations including those effected by substance use.
Rontae Bass
Supervisor of Harm Reduction Services
Rontae Bass BA in sociology and criminal justice. He brings 24 years of experience in mental health and case management services. Rontae has worked in a variety of settings, including psychiatric hospitals, substance use treatment services, children’s services, and mental health services. He most recently worked with Butler County Children Services and Family Treatment Drug Court, collaborating with the magistrate, prosecutor, guardian an litem, and substance use and mental health treatment providers ensuring best outcomes for clients and families. Rontae is skilled in building a trusting rapport with clients, as well as community partners. He acknowledges the negative impacts substance use and mental health concerns can have on individuals and family members and is passionate about providing assistance to these individuals to successfully navigate community resources.
